Flowers, and flowers, and flowers, and flowers….
Like walking through a field of bluebonnets, “Clara’s Orchard” combines sweet floral scents with the freshness of the great outdoors. Grab your favorite quilt and spend the afternoon lounging between notes of orange, jasmine, vanilla, and violets. Don’t forget to grab a handful of wildflowers on your way home!
Inspiration:
Clara, the former love of Gus McCrae, is the name and inspiration behind “Clara’s Orchard”. Gus refers to a little spring-fed creek that he and Clara frequently visited by this name. Throughout his life, he reminisces on how he’d asked her to marry him there but she refused. The spot reminds both he and Clara of the times when they were the happiest.
Prior to his death, Gus’s final wish is to be buried on his favorite embankment along the creek of “Clara’s Orchard.”. Woodrow agrees and tackles the "Long Ride Home" from Montana back to Texas to lay Gus to rest.
